Autumn

Well, where did that go. I just turned around and summer has gone.
Not only that but the fruit is picked and the backpackers have packed up and gone on to pick elsewhere. A generally temperate summer has led to an orderly and trouble free vintage.
Early indications are for an extremely good 2010 vintage, all the varieties ripened to the desired levels and the fruit was in beautiful condition as it arrived at the winery. Thanks to the attentions of Paul Bridgeman and his crew the ferments all went through nice and clean and as I write the cabernet wines are being run to barrel downstairs.

Time to draw breath and put our feet up for a minute. But not for long, the 2008 release is just around the corner. According to tradition the wines will be available for tasting and purchase early in May. Notification of dates and times will be sent out to the mailing list immediately after Easter and an advertisement will be placed in The Age Epicure in mid April. This year the release will be held for the first time in our new cellar door facility, more spacious and even a little grand with its panoramic view over the valley.

We look forward to seeing everybody at the winery in May, and dont forget that you can pre order your wine to avoid missing out.

As a matter of interest put www.vinography.com into your search engine and read the Yarra Yering article and reviews by Alder Yarrow. One of the very best articles I have seen on Yarra Yering and Dr Carrodus by a writer who really "gets it".
