Vintage

Vintage
It's been some time since the last newsletter, apologies, and much has happened. First and fore most vintage is finally underway. The cold wet summer has made for a late start, we picked Chardonnay and Pinot in the mid to late part of March. This was a good three weeks behind recent years and then we have spent the last week or so becalmed and waiting for some warmer weather to kick the later varieties into gear. Fortunately this week has seen the famed Yarra Valley Indian summer arrive and it should bring with it good ripening conditions for the varieties still to be picked. See Bridgies vintage update video on our facebook page, link below.

Mailing List
The mailing list has reached critical mass and we have closed it at the current number. In future those wanting to be included will have their names placed on a waiting list and places will be offered as they become available.
We have minted a numbered medallion for each member and these will be mailed out in the coming weeks. Mailing list members will have exclusive access to the Carrodus range of wines and entry to the release weekend will be strictly limited to members and their guests.

Warramate
Late last year we were approached by David Church with a view to us taking over the Warramate winery and vineyards. David found himself with a growing medical practice and less time to keep up with the demands of the vineyard. An arrangement was reached and from this month onwards we will run Warramate winery as well as Yarra Yering.
It is a logical development and a very exciting one for us. Warramate and Yarra Yering as most will know are adjoining vineyards, both planted around the same time in the late sixties, both grown without irrigation, and both having a history of producing fine wines of great individuality. We look forward to extending the proud tradition established by Jack and June Church and their family.

Release 2009 Wines
As mentioned earlier release weekend for the 2009 wines is the 7th and 8th of May, strictly limited to mailing list members and their guests with the wines available to the general public from 9th May through to the 31st of May. This will be the only opportunity to purchase these wines.
