Vintage and release

Was that a distant roar of jubilation I just heard from the direction of the winery? It was indeed as the last bucket of fruit, (Cressy Cabernet) was tipped into the crusher. Vintage over, and a surprisingly good one it has been, after a cold wet and late start the last few weeks has fallen into a steady, stable Indian summer. Foggy mornings followed by clear bright sunny days producing beautiful conditions for that final ripening and for bringing in the fruit. Watch facebook for Bridgey's vintage summary, coming soon.
The release of the 2009 wines is now only 1 week away so its straight down to preparations for that. The first weekend, 7th and 8th of May is only open to members of the mailing list and their guests, with the wine becoming available to the general public on Monday the 9th and continuing until the end of May. The 2009 wines will only be available for this month.
Please find attached in PDF form the release notice and the list of transportation charges.
Our winemakers dinner at Bella Vedere on July 15th is in the planning process and even closer is the "Open For Inspection" lunch at "Chateau Yering" on the 15th May, featuring a spectacular 4 course lunch designed by executive chef Mathew Macartney with matching Yarra Yering wines presented by Paul Bridgeman.
For details and preparation for both events go to our Facebook page, link below.
So thats it, time for the pickers to move on and the permanent winery staff to shepherd the wine to barrel downstairs, bed down the vineyard for the long winter pruning season and draw breath for just a moment. In many ways May, and the release of the new wines marks the end of the winery year, a whole new season starting with the commencement of pruning in June and the cycle starts again.
